the space you left behind.

I caught a glimpse of myself scowling heavily, deep in thought, in the reflection of a bus window one morning on the way to work. It caught me off guard and I wondered if anyone had seen me. I recomposed myself quickly, shaken a little from catching an image of myself in a moment that didn’t feel quite represented me, or how I wanted people to perceive me. I wanted to capture people in similar situations and possibly catch them at the precise moment where they become aware of themselves again.

Hello. I’m Dian McLeod, welcome.
I fell in love with photography at the age of 12. My first camera was a Pentax Asahi with a 50mm/f1.8 lens and leather casing which I adored when I was 14, even to this day I still shoot with it.
After 13 years of working as a Designer & Art Director, I’ve decided to take a creative sabbatical and continue this journey and love affair I have with my camera. I enjoy exploring concepts of reconstructed memories, identities and environments as well as focusing on themes of isolation, dreams, hope and faith.
